Drivers in Utah

This post is for venting purposes only.

Today I was driving to work, just minding my own business. I was on a three lane road, in the left lane trying to get to the far right lane. Now, I drive like a grandma (I actually take pride in that). I don't drive below the speed limit or anything like that. I just drive very cautiously, kind and within the speed limit. Anyways, I look in the side mirror see that there is room for me to move to the next lane but, I always look over my shoulder as well just in case the car is really closer than I thought. The coast was clear, well I then put my blinker on and the car that was in the lane starts to speed up. I have already started to move over to get in the lane and the car presses on the horn like some crazy person. This crazy driver actually had the guts to honk at me!

Another story from this moring about crazy drivers.

I had parked my car and started to walk to work. Well to get there I cross a lot of busy and side roads. I always look both ways when crossing the street. Crazy people today seemed like they were playing 50 points if you hit the person crossing the street. I could actually hear their car accelerating down the street.

All I have to say is........People, stop being to dang agressive!

Alabama

Michael and I went to visit my "Poppo" in Alabama in September. I do have to say the I love it back there. The people, the scenery and even the humidity was really nice. I don't think that I could EVER wear my hair straight there, but I really don't wear it straight that much anyways. I could really move back there!!

I will have to have a post with just pictures because it won't let me upload them right now. :(

The first day we were there we went and met all of EToy's family (my step grandma) and my uncle Dave that I haven't seen for many many years. Southern hospitality is really something I could get use to. Michael and I are people that don't just feel close to people quickly. It usually takes us a little while for us to feel a bond with someone. Well, before going there I thought it was going to be weird meeting someones family and when I left it felt like I was leaving a lot more of my family. I was really impressed!

They all wanted us to try the "Best BBQ Ribs". I don't want to hurt any feelings but it tasted just like Utah's BBQ ribs. They eat their ribs with bread drenched in BBQ sauce and I really didn't like that. I have texture issues, EWEWEWEW!!!

We went there for about 3 days is all but we saw NASA, the Tennessee River, The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament (by mistake), Steel Museum and some community churches.

Random stuff

My big bro just had his little baby boy!! He is a cute, adorable little boy!
I am so grateful to have all of my nieces and nephew! Michael and I were talking about each of them and how each personality is so unique! I love it!

Last night on the way up to hospital to see him, Michael and I were singing some songs. I thought I would share the songs we were singing.

On the radio we heard the song by Akon, Dangerous. So Michael looks at me and started to sing..... You're so dangerous, dangerous your a bad girl!! at the top of his lungs. Then I start singing, "Shut boy shut your lip, do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips" then he sings....that's not my name that's not my name!! Ha Ha Ha I was laughing to hard it was too funny! (at least for me) Can you tell we get entertained easily?

Two in one day??? Just some randomness

These past few weeks, I would have to say have not been the best. This email that I got from my friend Mandy really made me feel a lot better. I hope that it will help whoever reads it as much as it has helped me.

On a higher note...

I am almost done with spring semester and let me just say I have never really been this excited for the summer before now! I still love my biology instructor, she is really a fun person! Now english, not so much. Instead of helping me get better, I think that I have gotten worse! I am not impressed by her at all.

Higher we go.....

I was getting out of my car this morning and as most who live in Utah know, it's raining/snowing. I had the choice of waiting for trax to come and take me to work or I could walk there. If I walked I would
1. get extremely wet
2. be a little late (maybe a min.)
3. freeze my tushy off

so what do you think this crazy person did?
walked

That is right, I walked, it takes about 15mins to get to my work from the parking garage. While I walked, I noticed some amazing things that are everyday things but really stood out to me today.

1. I don't think I have seen so many worms in my life.
*While I walked to work I played dodge the worms. In the back of my head, I remembered my bio. teacher saying she tries not to hurt any living thing. I tried to do that too, but let me say that some of those worms did end up getting smashed by my large feet.

2. I love to see my breath in the air.
* It is really amazing how all the different molecules interact to do this.

3. Snow/rain
* I loved that some of my wetness was coming from snow and some from rain. I love to watch it come from the sky.

4. trees
* No tree is the same. I walk this way a lot to work and I saw a really pretty tree that I have never noticed before. Words could not decribe what it looked like.

5. Mountains/clouds
* I love when the clouds get low enough to touch the mountains. It is really pretty to me.

6. Getting wet
* Love that when I got to work my scrubs were soaked. I was sure cold but it was great!

You can call me weird but the things that I saw and felt this morning were pretty amazing. Life is so beautiful and sometimes I lose sight of it.

Do You Believe This???

A girl went to her friends house and she ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small COMMUNITY and she lived only a few blocks away.As she walked along under the bike trail Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a shortcut to her house, she decided to take it.However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her.She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection.Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep.Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recogn ize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him.She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her.She asked if they would ask the man one question.Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, 'Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're not alone.

People will not stand up for God..Send this if you truly belie ve in God....PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what:'If you deny me in front of your friends, I shall deny you in front of my Father' STAND UP FOR HIM ... 93% of people wont pass this on.... Will you be one of them?

April Fools/Alli's birthday

I don't have any pictures but I just wanted to say Happy Birthday Miss Alice!!!!! Love you!! you are a great and amazing sister!!!! You are getting to be an old lady!!!! I already sang happy birthday to you on your voice mail but here we go this will be better because you don't have to hear my singing voice!!

Happy birthday to you!!
Happy birthday to you!!
Happy birthday dear Alice!!
Happy birthday to you!!

Oh yes and I just decided that next year I will make up my own birthday song and sing it. Trust me when I say it will be the best you have ever heard!!hehehehe

April Fools

OK, so when people look at me they might think that I am a serious person!! Looks can be deceiving!!! hahaha

Last year I got Michael really good by telling him that I had passed out at work and that the doctors ordered labs and ct scans. Oh I thought it was funny (he did not).

So this year I thought that I would focus on someone else.............hehehe( can you hear my evil tone)hehehe

Today we have clinic with Dr. Park and we thought it would be funny to play a little joke on him.
Annette, Stacey ( both nurses) and I all hid in an exam room around the time clinic was to start. We had the charge nurse page Dr. Park to tell him that his first patient was here. When Dr. Park came down to the clinic Elaine (charge nurse) went and told him that he is on his own. She said that all of us called in sick. Dr. Park is a little worried and sits there for a little bit trying to figure out what he is going to do. Finally he sees that there is a patient and knocks on the door to come in. He opened the door and we had made a banner that said APRIL FOOLS and all screamed it too!!hahahaha it was hilarious!!!! ( he thought it was funny )

Then......

Dr. Park told us we should call the other Doc's and do something to them.
So we page all of them and tell them that they have clinic and their first patient it here. Let me just tell you that some of our doc's freak out if there is a patient down here without their okay.

So we got a call from Dr Grimmer and Stacey told him that his first patient was here and Dr Grimmer said" I shouldn't have any patients"Stacey told him to hold on and then we all got on the phone and yelled April fools hahaha this is the funniest he goes uh okay!

The next doctor that called was Dr Smith, that was one of the funniest to do.
He called and was freaking out saying that he had a T & A that he was doing then a voice clinic later and he shouldn't have any patients! Annette tells him sorry and to hold so she can find out what had happened. Then we get on and say April Fools and he just started to laugh and say you guys got me good.

These doctors are fun to work with!

Michael

I don't have any pictures to post, but even if I did I think I would be in trouble if I did post one. HA HA HA I have to laugh at Michael! OK, on with my post.

One night, I was driving home from school, just chatting with Michael. I was telling him how sometimes I just feel mean to people and was saying I was a horrible person. Well, Michael does not like when I say that stuff about his MAP(I'll explain in a bit). So of course he starts to tell me that I am the nicest person and I just worry to much. After that conversation we let each other go so he could do a few things before I got home. I got to thinking that people always say that you should be your own BIGGEST FAN. I think that Michael is mine!

Michael has a little nick name for me and he calls me this all the time, so now, I will answer to both MAP and Dana. MAP stands for Mrs Amazing Pants (it sounds like Michael doesn't it? making up nick names like this?) The funny part is Richard ( Michaels dad) will ask Michael, "So how is MAP doing?" He has started a new trend!

Michael is really the best man I have ever met! I have to give myself credit for falling in love with someone who Spec-freak'n-tacular(somes up all that he is in one word)

Wii fit

I saw on Tahnie's blog that she got this and when she said it was a nice hard work out, I didn't believe her. Then, just the other day my mom said that she went and got this game and told me to come over today and try it out.

Of course, I wanted to make sure I got a pretty good workout in for the day. So, Mandie and I went on a little bike ride while our men where working. Fifteen minutes into the ride both of us look at each other with our hands and face all frozen and said we are done. Afterward, we decided to go the Zupas and get us some tomatoe soup and a cheesy sandwich. Let me just say that I think that I got Mandie hooked to that place it is yummy for my tummy and now hers too!

I headed over to my mom's house after lunch and started to set up the game to play. I have to say that I was really impressed. It gets your height, weight and BMI and plugs it into the system. Then it goes on to check your balance and let me tell you I am not very balanced. What I thought was the best part of the assessment was it calculated how old I was in Wii fit years, I am thirty-five, wow! I am hoping to get a little younger as I progress but who knows?

I started off with the easier stuff like yoga, then went on by doing the aerobics and balancing exercises. Well I thought they were easier! While I was doing these exercises my family was watching to see if it was something that they wanted to try, so basically I was their little Guinea pig. My mom was laughing so hard when I got to the running portion of the exercise because you run in place and follow your instructor. Towards the end ( which is the part she was laughing at the most) you are chasing after a dog. Let me just say that I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and run on the treadmill. When I was done with the Wii fit I was breathing harder then I do at the gym. What a fun workout!

Recently, Michael and I have been getting our bikes ready for the nice weather. Saturday we got new tires for the bikes and then just decided to go for a little ride. Let me just tell you how much I have missed biking. It felt so good to have the cool air breeze pass your face and your hair move threw the wind. Ha ha ha I have to laugh because I am so tired but I just wanted to post this because I can't wait till Saturday when Michael and I can go ride our bikes again ( even if it snows).

You're so pretty

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmv3WlKa6U8

When Michael and I were just dating, we sat down at my apartment and started to watch "Anger Management." At the part were Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler are singing the "West Side Story" song, Michael turns to me and starts singing you're so pretty oh so pretty. I was laughing so hard because he was singing it in a higher voice and had down all the words. Ever since that this movie has been one of our favorites. Michael and I just watched it last night and afterward he always sings the song for me. Ha Ha Ha good times!!

School

So I don't know why but I have been really nervous to start school again! This semester I am taking English and Biology. My English class I am taking online and had my first class yesterday. That class so far seems really awesome!! We all sign on at 7am and the instructor has a discussion from her web cam. I don't know why but after that class I was really excited to do my homework! After work I have my Bio class, now that class is groovy! My instructor is really down to earth and it so easy going and says that good things come to those who work hard. So we have 4 midterms and our final. That class I am really liking so far! tonight is my lab so we will see what that brings! I know that I don't have a lot of classes but I don't want to stress myself out to much! Nobody wants to see that!!

Update

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures for all the things that have happened over the past few weeks. The Saturday before Christmas all of my bro's and sis's got together and just ate and opened our gifts that we got each other. It was a lot of fun seeing the nieces opening all there presents. Emma liked having Justin ( my bro) open the presents with her, where Alicia liked to open her presents all by herself. On Christmas eve we all went tubing (this is what I have been waiting for!) After having fun in the snow we went to my mom's and ate some more food and played Rock band with cousins, Brothers and Sisters. I was getting pretty good at the drums so my cousins kept on bumping against my arms to try to make my scores lower! What cheaters huh?? After we got done playing around Michael and I drove home in the snow and decided that we really wanted to open our presents from each other on Christmas eve. Michael kept on teasing me about the present he got me and it was driving me mad to not know!! Guess what?? I got a bike, yahoo for me!! I got Michael clothes and scheduled him for a concealed weapons permit class. Christmas day we got up and rushed all over Utah to see all four parents. That night we went and saw bedtime stories, it was really good! I love Adam Sandler! New years eve we went over to the Lay's and played friends scene it and some other games. I was sure that we would win but nope that was not the case Krista and Brandon are crazy mad about friends if they can beat Michael and I!! hahaha!! jk! That same week was Michael's birthday so we spent more time with the family. Now mind you Michael did not want to do anything for his birthday. So on his actual birthday we just went to lunch at this great pancake place in sugar house and shopped for awhile. That Sunday we went over to my mom's and the whole fam just made homemade pizza and had cheesecake, ice cream and cake. It was Emma's and Michael's birthday so we just combined them together. This last weekend we went out to eat dinner with Michael's pops, step-momma and sis for his birthday. I told Michael before hand that I was going to have the waiters sing for him. Michael warned me he would be REALLY mad at me if I did, so I had Krista do it for me. Thank you Krista!! Then that Sunday we went over to Michael's mom's for cheesecake and ice cream that was fun seeing everyone again!! Can you tell Michael loves cheesecake? Oh ya and I borrowed all the Harry Potter books from my sister-in-laws, I started on the 23rd and finished on the 10Th I wanted to get them done before school started and yahoo I did it! all 7 of them!!
